Excitement is in the air in anticipation of the new Navy SEAL Museum San Diego opening to the public at 10 a.m. on Oct. 4.

Located downtown near the Embarcadero at 1001 Kettner Blvd., the museum will offer an immersive, world-class experience designed to engage, educate, and inspire.

NSMSD will provide access to the elite and often secretive world of U.S. Navy SEALs. Through cutting-edge exhibits, virtual reality environments, retired SEAL docents, and interactive displays, the museum will share the story of the SEALs while reinforcing values from the Navy SEAL Ethos, such as leadership, perseverance, adaptability, and service above self.

NSMSD is the second museum in the organization, following its sister location in Fort Pierce, Fla.

The San Diego facility will offer a place of education, reverence, and inspiration, preserving the legacy of the Frogmen from World War II to present-day SEAL Teams. Visitors will learn about the storied past of the Navy SEALs and their predecessors through interactive exhibits, while also paying tribute to fallen heroes at the Navy SEAL Memorial and supporting the families via the Trident House Charities Program.

“Navy SEALs have played transformational roles in our nation’s history through clandestine operations. And due to that fact, many Americans have no idea what it takes to become a SEAL, how we came to be, what our missions entailed, and where we’re going in the future,” said Beef Drechsler, executive director of the Museum.

“We will convey all of this through engaging and hands-on exhibitions that utilize cutting-edge technology, as well as face-to-face interactions with docents—most of whom served in the SEAL Teams—and other special warfare operators, giving the visitor an unparalleled learning experience and an appreciation of the sacrifices made by anyone serving in uniform.”

    Museum Hours:

    Monday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday: Closed Wednesday–Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Timed-entry tickets will go on sale starting Sept. 1 (Labor Day), and guests are encouraged to purchase them online in advance to ensure smooth entry and flow throughout the museum.
