BOSSES of a popular delivery service have confirmed that packages over a certain value will not be shipped to the US.
Chiefs have confirmed that the measure will be in place until further notice and customers have been warned about delays.
The policy will impact thousands who rely on the logistics and courier company DHL.
DHL execs have paused deliveries on items over $800 and the policy came into place on April 21.
The company has also warned businesses that they could see delays on shipments of items over $800.
Transactions between companies on goods that are worth over $800 are not impacted.
DHL chiefs have vowed to share updates and stressed the policy is temporary.
Earlier this month, Donald Trump promised to end a policy that allowed goods under $800 to enter the US duty free.
The crackdown is part of his approach to China, who Trump blames for not doing enough in its bid to combat the flow of fentanyl into the US.
Now, packages will be impacted by a tax, which equates to 30% of their value, or $25 per good.
The $25 fee will be hiked to $50 from June.
Trump has accused Chinese companies of hiding drugs into packages to bypass the duty exemption.
The president’s tariffs on Chinese imports now total 145%.
DHL is not the only shipping company that has taken action in light of Trump’s tariff warfare.
The U.S. Sun reported how Hong Kong’s postal service has suspended deliveries to the US.
Bosses claimed Washington’s behavior equated to bullying, and alleged tariffs were being imposed abusively.
Shein chiefs have admitted its customers will face price rises because of changes in trade rules.
PRICE RISES COMING
Those price rises will come into force on April 25.
But bosses have been tight-lipped on how much the price rises will be.
Shein is known for its clothes and cosmetic sales, while Americans turn to Temu for items such as gadgets, home decor, and gardening tools.
In February, USPS chiefs implemented a ban on parcels from China before reversing the decision.
Meanwhile, UPS have brought back its 29 cents per pound surcharge fee on imports from China and Hong Kong.
