RCB suffered a 5-wicket defeat at the hands of PBKS in their last game and will be desperate to avenge the loss. It was RCB's third straight loss at home this season, and they will be hoping to maintain their flawless away form. RCB have won all four of their away games this season and will be hopeful of beating PBKS to register a crucial win.
RCB are currently at the fourth spot in the points table with four wins from seven games. A win over PBKS will further bolster their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. As RCB gears up for the crucial game, we are taking a look at the RCB Playing 11.
RCB Playing 11 vs Punjab Kings- IPL 2025, Match 37:
Phil Salt and Virat Kohli are set to be the openers in the RCB Playing 11 for the upcoming game. Both the in-form batters will look to bounce back after failing to impress against PBKS in the last game. They were sent back cheaply by Arshdeep Singh in Bengaluru and will be keen to score big at PBKS' home ground.
Salt was out for just 4 runs while Kohli departed for 1. With RCB eyeing a crucial win, the onus will be on their star openers to give their team a good start with the bat.
Middle-order: Rajat Patidar (c), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya
Except Tim David, most of RCB's middle-order batsmen failed to impress. Captain Rajat Patidar got the start but could not convert it into a big score. He departed after scoring 23 runs off 18 balls. The right-handed batsman would look to lead his team from the front in the upcoming match.
The likes of Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Krunal Pandya had a forgettable outing with the bat. They are expected to retain their spots in the RCB Playing 11 for the upcoming match and will be eyeing a better performance. Livingstone was out for just 4 runs while Jitesh and Krunal scored 2 and 1 respectively.
David was the star with the bat for RCB. After RCB were reduced to 47/7, it was his unbeaten 50-run knock that took the team to a respectable total. The Australia star hit three consecutive sixes in the last over before taking a double to complete his first-ever IPL fifty off just 26 balls. With form on his side, David will be eyeing another impactful outing with the bat.
Manoj Bhandage was used as an Impact Sub in the RCB Playing 11 in the last game, but the Karnataka allrounder failed to impress. He scored just 1 run off 4 balls and did not get the chance to bowl.
Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma, Yash Dayal
The RCB Playing 11 is likely to have three pacers and one spinner. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, and Yash Dayal are set to be the three pacers in the RCB Playing 11, while Suyash Sharma is likely to be the spinner.
The RCB bowlers did a good job of making a match out of the last contest after their batters managed to score only 95 runs.
Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for just 14 runs, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 wickets. The onus will be on the senior pacers to lead RCB's charge with the bat again.
