Every ‘90s kid has a special place in their heart for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air — and actress Karyn Parsons was a big part of that!
Parsons, 58, played Hilary Banks, the incredibly fashionable, slightly self-absorbed, and always entertaining eldest daughter of the Banks family.

Parsons was a fixture on the NBC sitcom from 1990 to 1996 before ultimately quitting acting altogether in 2002.
In rare photos obtained by The U.S. Sun, the former starlet was spotted running errands in her hometown in Rhode Island.
Although Parsons wasn’t adorned in full Hilary Banks glam, the author looked trendy in a black trench coat.

Parsons starred on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alongside Will Smith as Will “The Fresh Prince,” James Avery as Philip Banks /Uncle Phil, Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton Banks, Tatyana Ali as Ashley Banks, Joseph Marcell as Geoffrey Butler, Ross Bagley as Nicky Banks, and Janet Hubert and Daphne Maxwell Reid, who both played Vivian Banks/Aunt Viv at different points in the series.
After The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ended, Parsons went on to found the Sweet Blackberry Foundation, an organization that creates short animated films and books to highlight lesser known stories of African American achievement.
Moreover, Parsons wrote a children’s book titled How High the Moon, which details her mother’s experiences growing up under Jim Crow in the South.

Parsons is also married to director Alexandre Rockwell and they share two children.
Although she distanced herself from Hollywood, Parsons did reunite with her Fresh Prince cast members during the show’s 30th reunion on HBO Max in November 2020.
