THE NFL has announced a six-game suspension for a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
The ban was handed out for a violation of the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Isaac Alarcon, 26, will be suspended for the first six games of the 2025 season.
The offensive tackle has been a member of the 49ers since January 2024.
He was initially signed on a reserves/futures contract.
And Alarcon was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
He hasn’t yet played a regular-season game after joining the league in 2020.
The 26-year-old will be able to take part in training camp and offseason programs.
The ban will then kick in when the 2025 season begins.
Alarcon was born in Mexico and entered the league under the International Player Pathway program.
He was allocated to the Dallas Cowboys and placed on their practice squad.
Alarcon initially joined the 49ers just weeks before their Super Bowl LVIII appearance.
San Francisco was beaten 25-22 by the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The team failed to live up to their high expectations in 2024.
They finished 6-11 and fourth in the NFC West last year.
The 49ers recently confirmed they would keep Brandon Aiyuk.
After setting an unofficial trade deadline for the wide receiver, the 49ers were unable to trade him and are keeping him on the roster.

Aiyuk was owed a $22.9 million roster bonus on April 1, with that payment being the reasoning for the unofficial deadline.
However, no NFL teams emerged as suitors for the wide receiver and he is remaining on the roster.
The 49ers are also locked in negotiations with star quarterback Brock Purdy over a lucrative new deal.
Purdy, 25, is in the final year of his initial rookie contract and is now eligible to negotiate an extension with the 49ers.
Despite his impressive form, Purdy has been locked into his four-year $3.7m rookie deal.
Fox Sports’ NFL insider Jordan Schultz claims that Purdy could land up to $55MILLION with a new deal at the 49ers.
