Greeley West 10, Northglenn 9, in Greeley: Greeley West narrowly snapped an eight-game losing streak and improved to 5-11 overall. The Spartans led 4-0 after one inning before ultimately falling behind 9-5 through five innings. West didn’t hang its head, scoring a run in the bottom of the sixth before completing the comeback in walk-off fashion with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Senior Jeremiah Duhring led the Spartans, hitting 1 for 2 with four RBI, a home run and two runs. Sophomore Isaiah Preciado went 2 for 5 with two RBI and two doubles.
Dayspring Christian 3, Flatirons 2, in Greeley: After losing for the first time in nine games three days earlier, Dayspring potentially started another win streak with this nonleague victory. Trailing 2-1 after six innings, the Eagles rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win in walk-off fashion. Sophomore Gavin Bohl had Dayspring’s only RBI, hitting 1 for 4. Senior Gage Davis pitched all seven innings for the Eagles, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking none. Dayspring improved to 10-2 overall.
Highland 4, Merino 2, in Ault: Highland secured a win in this well-played league game to grab its fourth consecutive victory. Merino broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the top of the fourth. The Huskies quickly responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Senior John Bingley led Highland, hitting 2 for 3 with two RBI and a home run. Junior Stetson Hendren pitched five innings for the Huskies, allowing two earned runs on five hits, striking out six and walking none. Highland improved to 8-4-1 overall, 3-1 in Class 2A Lower Platte League play.

The Reds scored two runs in the top of the ninth, but the Tigers did one better, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth to win in walk-off fashion. Senior Cooper Nider led Eaton, hitting 2 for 5 with two RBI, a run and a double. He was one of six Reds players with multiple hits. Senior Cash Rinker was solid on the mound for Eaton, allowing one earned run on six hits, striking out five and walking three in six innings. The Reds fell to 10-3 overall, 2-1 in 4A/3A/2A Patriot League play.
Girls golf
Resurrection Christian hosts open, in Windsor: Resurrection Christian played host to 18 other teams during its third annual open tournament at RainDance National Resort and Golf. The host Cougars shot a three-golfer, 24-over-par score of 240 to place second behind Colorado Academy (226). Severance was third (260).
Junior Avery Stockslager led Resurrection Christian, shooting a 7-over-par 79 to place fourth overall. She was joined on the team by senior Brooke May (80, 6th), junior Karina Garcia (81, 7th) and freshman Courtney Foxworth (113, 44th).
Senior Katelyn Johnson (85, 9th) represented Severance, as did senior Sophie Morgan (86, 10th), senior Reagan Mendoza (89, 14th) and sophomore Jaycee Runner (89, 14th).
Colorado Academy freshman Sophia Lee placed first overall, shooting a 1-under-par 71.

Windsor 7, Greeley West 0, in Windsor: Windsor completely controlled this conference match, scoring all seven of the game’s goals in the first half. The Wizards won for the third consecutive game and for the sixth time in the past seven matches. They improved to 8-3 overall, 2-1 in 5A/4A Northern Conference play. Greeley West fell to 3-6-2, 0-3.
Weld Central 5, Valley 0, in Gilcrest: Weld Central put an end to its six-match losing streak, going up 1-0 in the first half before tacking on four more goals in the second half. Rebels seniors Kayla Branch and Torrin Anderson scored two goals apiece. Weld Central improved to 3-7 overall, 1-1 in 3A/2A Patriot League play. Valley fell to 3-6, 0-2.
Northridge 7, Wellington 0, in Greeley: Northridge dominated this league match, improving to 5-4-2 overall, 3-0-1 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play.
Timnath 2, Severance 0, in Severance: After a scoreless first half, Timnath scored a pair of goals in the second half to hand Severance a conference loss. The Silver Knights fell to 5-3-1 overall, 2-1 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play.
Mountain View 7, Greeley Central 0, in Loveland: Greeley Central couldn’t slow Mountain View’s offense, as the Mountain Lions went up 3-0 in the first half before repeatedly tacking on in the second match. The Wildcats dropped their fourth consecutive match and fell to 2-7-1 overall, 0-3 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play.
Thompson Valley 10, Roosevelt 0, in Loveland: Roosevelt was never in much of a position to snap its three-game losing streak, as Thompson Valley scored nine of its 10 goals in the first half. The Rough Riders fell to 1-7-1 overall, 0-4 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play.
Liberty Common 7, Windsor Charter 1, in Fort Collins: Windsor Charter couldn’t provide the offense to match Liberty Common’s effective attack. The Firebirds fell to 3-2-1 overall, 0-2 in 3A/2A Patriot League play.
SkyView Academy 8, Union Colony 0, in Greeley: Union Colony struggled in every facet of this league match. SkyView scored four goals in each half. Despite the loss, Timberwolves junior goalkeeper Nadene Chacon had 26 saves. Union Colony fell to 0-7-1 overall, 0-5 in 2A Mile High League play.
Girls tennis
Resurrection Christian 5, University 2, in Loveland: Resurrection Christian claimed two of three singles matches and three of four doubles matches. Cougars senior Isabella Prohs picked up a quality 6-0, 6-0 win against sophomore Charlie Sherman at No. 2 singles. University freshman Ellie Morado and junior Payton Turner topped seniors Tate Maddox and Abby McClure 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 doubles. Resurrection Christian improved to 6-2 overall, 1-0 in 3A Region 4 duals. The Bulldogs fell to 4-2, 1-1.
Severance 6, Wellington 1, in Severance: Severance won all four doubles matches and two of three singles matches in this nonleague affair. Among the victories, Silver Knights sophomore Joanna Carter defeated fellow sophomore Emma Moore 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Severance freshman Josephine Carter topped junior Ava Essay 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. The Silver Knights improved to 6-3 in duals.
Greeley West places fourth, in Greeley: Greeley West scored 31 points to tie for fourth out of seven teams in the Northern Conference tournament at Centennial Courts. Windsor was seventh (4). Fossil Ridge placed first with 109 points.
Eaton 5, Fort Morgan 2, in Fort Morgan: Eaton won just one of three singles matches but prevailed in all four doubles matches. Reds junior Harley Forster picked up a hard-fought 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 10-8 win at No. 2 singles against senior Brynlee Ledford. Eaton improved to 3-2 overall, 1-0 in 3A Region 4 play.
Mountain View 4, Northridge 3, in Loveland: Northridge won just one of three singles matches but claimed two of four doubles matches. Grizzlies sophomore Cora Santos defeated senior Eva Diaz 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. In one of the most competitive matches of the dual, Northridge junior Jillianna Utoft and junior Keagan Hood defeated sophomores Annebelle Loucks and Elizabeth Kirby 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. The Grizzlies fell to 2-7 with this nonleague loss.
Berthoud 6, Greeley Central 1, in Greeley: Greeley Central picked up one win, as seniors Aubrey Erdmann and Ayla Snider earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles. The Wildcats fell to 0-8 overall, 0-5 in 4A Region 4 duals.

Severance 3, Mountain View 2, in Loveland: Severance secured this dramatic conference win to extend its win streak to eight matches and improve to 12-6 overall, 9-0 in 4A Northern Conference play. The Silver Knights won 25-22, 22-25, 14-25, 25-15, 18-16.
Centaurus 3, Greeley Central 2, in Greeley: Greeley Central narrowly lost this back-and-forth conference match, falling 18-25, 27-25, 23-25, 25-14, 15-12. The Wildcats dropped to 3-13 overall, 0-6 in 5A Northern Conference play.
Eagle Ridge Academy 3, Fort Lupton 1, in Fort Lupton: Fort Lupton dropped its 11th consecutive match, showing some fight throughout the match but ultimately falling 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23. The Bluedevils dropped to 1-11 overall, 1-7 in 4A Northern Conference play.
