Travis Kelce has Swifties swooning again after (perhaps unknowingly) mentioning the '90s film American Pie, which happens to be referenced in Taylor Swift's hit "So High School" – a song long rumored to be inspired by him.
The Kansas City Chiefs player, 35, mentioned the cult classic while talking about R-rated movies with his brother Jason Kelce on the Wednesday, April 16, episode of their "New Heights" podcast.
“The one I remember watching that I didn’t even realize was rated R was American Pie, and that was when we were, like, 10,” the tight end said. “I feel like I had to have watched a couple before that."
"I was just f–king going to the movies," he added. "I forget how I got in. I might have been there with someone else’s parents." Both brothers agreed their parents probably wouldn't have approved.
And while Travis didn't mention the song itself, fans of course picked up on the reference in the comments section of the podcast. "I’m watching ‘American Pie’ with you on a Saturday night," one person wrote, the exact lyrics from Taylor's song, which appears on her most recent album,The Tortured Poets Department.
