ONE young actor got very hot under the collar when working with Danielle Fishel on Boy Meets World.
Shaun Weiss, who was a recognizable child star thanks to his roles in The Mighty Ducks and Heavyweights, was about 19 when he made a guest appearance on the coming-of-age sitcom.
He spoke about being very attracted Danielle and her co-star, Maitland Ward, when he filmed the episode in 1998.
Shaun made the confession recently when he appeared on an episode of the podcast, Pod Meets World, hosted by Danielle, and her sitcom co-stars Will Friedle and Rider Strong.
“I gotta be honest, and I remembered the feeling as soon as the episode came on,” he said.
“I was really, I don’t know how to say, hormonal. And the chicks on that set…. Danielle, I mean, when you came into the room, my chemistry would change.”
Shaun added: “I didn’t know how to control myself… basically the whole time anybody was around, I was just like, ‘Try to keep it together, try to keep it together.’ And I was just losing my mind [over] all the hot people I’d seen.”
“So basically, I’m just bursting at the seams, Danielle. The whole time, being like, ‘I gotta go to my trailer for a minute!'”
He concluded by saying that watching back on Boy Meets World now, “reminded me of puberty…. I was like, ‘Madness, madness’.”
Shaun had a guest role in an episode on the sixth season called, You’re Married, You’re Dead.
In the episode, lead character, Cory (Ben Savage), convinces his friend, Shawn (Strong), to bring him along to a club called Cleaváge complete with scantily clad waitresses.
Cory wanted to show Shawn he was still a fun guy after getting into a relationship with Topanga (Fishel), but ends up embarrassing Shawn by acting foolishly around his friends Gambling Dan (Phil Buckman) and Louie (Shaun Weiss).
While Shaun looked back fondly on that episode, the three podcast hosts had nothing but criticism for it.
“This ranks up there with arguably the worst episode for me of the series for every reason,” Will said.
Danielle added she was not happy with some of the dialogue her character, Topanga, was forced to say about the Hooters-like club the boys had gone to.
“And I am furious that they put the words, ‘Well, as long as there’s women willing to dance like that, there will be men to see them’ in Topanga’s mouth. How dare you? How dare you?” Danielle said.
Boy Meets World ran for seven seasons until 2000.
