Georgia running back Branson Robinson will enter the transfer portal this spring, according to a report.
Robinson is a former 4-star prospect who battled injuries throughout his time in Athens. He shared his transfer plans with On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday morning:
BREAKING: Georgia RB Branson Robinson plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he tells @on3sportsThe 5’10 220 RB was ranked as the No. 2 RB in the ‘22 Class (per On3 Industry)Will have 2 years of eligibility remaining t.co/RlUbB6EMhS pic.twitter.com/mtNl9iCk1G
— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) April 16, 2025If healthy, Robinson is talented enough to help Georgia’s backfield. However, he’s rarely been at 100% during his time in Athens. Robinson missed the entire 2023 season due to a ruptured patellar tendon. He was then limited to just 25 rush attempts in 2024.
Robinson arrived at Georgia as one of the top running back recruits in the country for his class. He made an impact as a true freshman in 2022, rushing for 330 yards on Georgia’s most recent National Championship team. Unfortunately, it seems injuries prevented him from reaching his potential in Athens.
Robinson’s departures strengthens Georgia’s need for a running back in the transfer portal who can compete for snaps with Nate Frazier. The spring transfer portal window officially opened on Wednesday morning, so UGA can now pursue a replacement.
Robinson was the No. 4 running back in the country for the class of 2022, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He will have 2 years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
