On Monday night, The Voice Season 27 Knockouts wrapped up for the season as each coach matched up two of the remaining members of their teams for a sing-off that put one of their artists through to the Playoffs and sent the other home.
What makes the Knockouts different from the Battles is it isn’t a duet. Rather, the artists select their own song to compete with, so they are picking material they are comfortable with, and they are giving the coaches an idea of the direction they hope to take their careers.
For the coaches, the Knockouts are tougher than the Battles because they don’t have a Save, just a Steal, so any decision they make is final. On night one, Adam Levine used his Steal to bring Kolby Cordell to his team and Michael Bublé used his Steal on Angie Rey, and, on night two, John Legend used his steal on Ari Camille. That meant going into the third and final night that Kelsea Ballerini was the only one still with a Steal.

Nell: “Sweet Thing” by Chaka Khan, RufusRenzo: “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish
Winner: Renzo
John said: “Nell, everyone was moved by her performance, but the problem is she went up against Renzo and he’s genre-defying, boundary-defying. Because he’s so different, I had to pick Renzo.”
Knockouts Round 2: Carlos Santiago vs Adam David from Team Bublé
Carlos: “You Are the Reason” by Callum ScottAdam: “Unaware” by Allen Stone
Winner: Adam David
Michael said: “Carlos is a great singer but Adam for me is the best artist. He knows who he wants to be. He has a really soulful voice, great dexterity, power, and pitch. Can’t wait to see what my Adam does in the Playoffs .”
Hailey: “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” by Patsy MontanaJaelen: “Dial Drunk” by Noah Kahan
Winner: Jaelen Johnson
Kelsea said: “Jaelen vs Hailey was very tough because I chose the artist who would move forward based on the whole time on The Voice and the reason I did that is because the word I always use for Jaelen is steady. Hailey, since the Battles, there was so much growth, but Jaelen has this traditional-leaning voice with that storytelling element and it feels not dissimilar to what we’re hearing on country radio right now. I think he’s a dark horse in this competition.”

Knockouts Round 4: Jacquelyn George vs Olivia Kuper Harris from Team John
Jacquelyn: “Too Little Too Late” by JoJoOlivia: “Last Dance” by Donna Summer
Winner: Olivia Kuper Harris
John said: “Jacquelyn, the high range that she’s able to do is pretty stunning, but Olivia, wow, she nailed it with style and control. And when she leans into the jazzy tone, it’s really special. There’s really no one else like her in the competition.”
Jadyn: “Keep Holding On” by Avril LavigneKameron: “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur
Winner: Jadyn Cree
Michael said: “Jadyn has a really clear, beautiful, unique voice. It’s one of those voices that we’re going to hear on the radio one day. Both seasons that I’ve been here, I think she may have more star quality than anyone I’ve seen before. I think she’s going to win this thing.”

Knockouts Round 6: Conor James vs Darius Jay from Team Adam
Conor: “Forever Young” by AlphavilleDarius: “American Boy” by Estelle
Winner: Conor James
Adam said: “The possibilities with Conor, that dude can just sing like very few people can. His soulfulness, I want to lean into that. He’s going to be around for a while."
Steal: Darius Jay
Kelsea said: “I have been waiting for this for so long. I think Darius is so special. He has this certainty about him and this joy and quirkiness. I don’t think I have anyone on my team at that level of full-encompassing performer. I fought so hard for Darius since the jump and I finally got him on my team. I am so giddy to work with Darius Jay in the Playoffs."
