Time for a little change on board motor yacht Katina! Captain Jason Chambers fired both bosun Wihan Du Toit and deckhand Johnny Arvanitis during the Monday, April 14, episode of Below Deck Down Under before welcoming two new members to the crew.
The bosun had been on thin ice for weeks as his team didn't seem to respect him nor did he get along with the interior crew. His lack of taking accountability for mistakes that were happening on board is ultimately what Jason attributed to his firing.
Johnny, on the other hand, was let go after a violent outburst of him punching walls in his cabin. The girl he had been dating at the time, sous chef Alesia Harris, accidentally climbed into Wihan's bunk thinking it was Johnny's, and he walked in at that exact moment, understandably confused as to why his girl was cozying up to his bosun. He lost his cool and began throwing fists inside the bunk.
The Greek deckhand stayed in a hotel for the night and met with Jason in the bridge the next morning to apologize. "I was thinking a lot last night and I definitely lost my composure," Johnny said, admitting he was out of line. Nevertheless, Jason let him go for "the safety of the crew," which he understood.
The captain wasted no time bringing in replacements as the new crew members, bosun Nate Salmon and deckhand Nicolas Cattelan, started the next day as they picked up a brand new charter.
Bravo also dropped a mid-season trailer after he episode, which previews more drama to come. Check it out below!
Below Deck Down Under airs on Bravo Mondays at 8/7c.
