Mike Tyson sparks instant confusion with bizarre social media post

Mike Tyson shared with fans how he was celebrating his birthday – over two months before his birthday.

The boxing legend sparked instant confusion with a post on his official Facebook account which showed him trying and failing to blow out candles on a birthday cake with loved ones surrounding him.

Tyson posted the video on his official Facebook account on April 14 – his birthday is on June 30

“Why, thank you everybody,” Tyson said after happy birthday was sung to him.

“I’m just thinking 57 years ago I was born, huh?”

After taking a moment to make his wish, Tyson attempted to blow out the candles, only to realise that they were prank candles that came back to light once seemingly being blown out.

“Why are you guys f****** with me? This is crazy, right,” a smiling Tyson asked his guests.

Fans watching the video may have been asking the same question to him with the post coming at a bizarre time.

The former heavyweight’s account posted the video on Monday, April 14, but his birthday is on June 30.

His ’57 years ago I was born’ comment suggests the post is old and was done in error given that he will turn 59 years old later this year.

It’s been five months since ‘Iron Mike’ made his boxing comeback as he took on Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas.

Plenty objected to the bout, which Paul won by unanimous decision, due to the 31-year age gap between the two fighters.

It was a huge commercial success with 60 million households watching the fight live on Netflix.

Meanwhile, 72,300 fans flooded into the AT&T Stadium to witness it first-hand.

The event’s gate grossed a stunning $18million, double the previous Texas record for combat sports, topping Canelo Alvarez’s $9m gate for his bout with Billy Joe Saunders in May 2021.

However, Tyson appears to be done with the fight game for now.

“The only person I’m fighting now is my accountant,” he recently told Men’s Health when asked if he would box again.

“Other than that, I’m just living life and I’m doing good right now.”
