Texas A&M all-time leading scorer Wade Taylor and coach Buzz Williams have both departed this offseason, clearing the way for a new era to start in College Station.
In comes Bucky McMillan, tasked with the job of replacing Williams. The Aggies lose a lot of their key contributors this season, and McMillan has already said it is going to be a tough task to bring in talent this late in the offseason.
Help is on the way though, as the 2-time All-Atlantic Sun guard Jacari Lane announced he would be coming to College Station.

— jacari (@jacari_lane5) April 12, 2025He has played 3 seasons at North Alabama, averaging 14.9 PPG in his career. Last season was his best, as he averaged 17.3 PPG, 4.0 APG and 3.2 RPG, while also shooting 40.6% from the 3-point line.
Lane is the first player to sign with Texas A&M basketball since McMillan became the head coach. Getting talented players quickly is going to be huge for McMillan, as the SEC is coming off a season where 14 teams from the conference made the NCAA Tournament.
Many of those teams are losing some of their best players, but the league figures to be an elite conference again. McMillan and the Aggies are expected to continue to be aggressive in recruiting the portal over the coming days and weeks.
