There's nothing like sipping down an ice-cold Frosty to combat the heat of summer. With that being said, fast food fans might be interested in knowing that Wendy's is set to introduce six brand-new Frosty flavors in the immediate months ahead.
In the past, Wendy's has traditionally offered a simple choice between either chocolate or a more seasonal base for its decadent Frosty beverages. Over the last few years, for example, diners had the option of ordering such fan-favorite flavors as vanilla Frostys or more limited options like strawberry, pumpkin spice, and salted caramel.
This past February, however, Wendy's began pushing for additional flavors to join its Frosty lineup, leading them to produce the Thin Mints Frosty in partnership with the Girl Scouts of America. The menu item sees diners add in a swirl of Thin Mints cookie butter to either a vanilla or chocolate Frosty, resulting in a refreshingly creamy dessert based on everyone's go-to Girl Scouts order.
With the success and popularity of the Thin Mints Frosty and the SpongeBob-inspired Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty (a vanilla or chocolate Frosty with a pineapple mango swirl), Wendy's has announced that six new flavors will join their restaurants' menu.
Beginning April 15, all Wendy's locations will see the addition of three new Frosty Swirls -- Strawberry, Caramel, and Brownie Batter -- which diners can add to either chocolate or vanilla Frostys.
In addition, Wendy's plans on launching a bold new take on the traditional Frosty with Frosty Fusions. These items will act as a slightly alternative version of a Frosty Swirl, albeit with different toppings mixed into the beverage to form a sundae-like delicacy.
On May 12, three Frosty Fusion flavors will make their way to all U.S.-based Wendy's restaurants, taking the form of Caramel Crunch, Oreo Brownie Batter, and Pop-Tarts Strawberry.
Alongside this new sweet treat, Wendy's has also teased an upcoming collaboration with the spicy tortilla chip brand Takis, reportedly planned for this coming summer.
