A boy suspected of fatally stabbing a man in the victim’s Mission Viejo apartment on Wednesday, April 9, has been arrested on suspicion of murder, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said on Thursday, April 10.
Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 27000 block of Camden after a woman found her brother bleeding on the couch. They discovered Cristopher Bahenabaylon, 21, suffering from a stab wound to the chest; authorities said he died at the scene.
Deputies detained a person of interest— later identified as the boy, who lived in the same apartment complex as the victim.
He was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall.
Authorities have declined to released any further details, including the relationship between the suspect and the victim, or a possible motive.
