SHREDDING EVENT: A free community shred event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Roosevelt Student Wellness Center parking lot, 110 Orchard Ave., Hubbard. The event is sponsored by the Hubbard Public Library. The Protect-N-Shred truck will shred documents. Bring documents in bags or boxes and Hubbard Schools Ecology Club students will unload them from vehicles. For questions, call 330-534-3512, ext. 2. No registration required. Boxes will be returned.
DRAMA PRESENTATION: The Champion High School Drama Club will present The Little Mermaid at 7 p.m. today and Saturday at the high school auditorium. Tickets are $6 for students and $10 for adults.
FRIENDLY SQUARES: The Friendly Squares will hold their monthly square dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Niles Senior Center, 14 East State St. Gene Hammond will be the caller.
PASTOR ANNIVERSARY: Pastor Sam Smith, from First Missionary Baptist Church of Mesopotamia, will mark the church pastor’s anniversary 4 p.m. Sunday. Minister Reggie Wells of Abundant Grace Church will be guest preacher, and the Golden Wonders are the featured singers.
MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION: The Girard Ministerial Association will hold Holy Week services 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church on Liberty Avenue, and 7 p.m. Good Friday at Girard Church of God.
UGLY ART NIGHT: The Girard Free Library will hold an ugly art night at 6 p.m. Monday. The library will provide everything needed to make the ugliest art project. The event is for families and teams. To register, call 330-545-2508.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION NOMINEES: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will present its annual Historic Preservation Awards for outstanding revitalization projects and for people who have an impact on preservation in the local community. Digital submissions must be received by April 25. All entries will be judged by a panel of local experts in early May.
