Former world snooker champion Graeme Dott has been charged with historical sex offences against children.
Prosecutors claim the 47-year-old Scot committed the first offence between 1993 and 1996, against a girl in the Glasgow area.
Dott, who is still an active player, is claimed to have “exposed his penis before assaulting the child”.
The second offence allegedly took place between 2006 and 2010, with the court hearing Dott stripped naked and showered with a young boy.
Both children were reported to be around 10 years old at the time of the alleged offences.
Dott appeared in private in court on Monday, with another hearing set to take place on 11 June.
He will not compete at the upcoming 2025 World Snooker Championships, which begins in Sheffield on 19 April.
Snooker’s governing body, the WPBSA, said: “Graeme Dott has been suspended by the WPBSA due to a case which is scheduled to be heard before the High Court in Scotland.
“Whilst court proceedings are ongoing, it would be inappropriate for the WPBSA to make any further comment.”
