Linda Denning of Pittsboro won a $369,962 jackpot prize off of a $1 Cash 5 ticket, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Tuesday. Denning bought her lucky Cash 5 ticket from Breeze Thru on East Street. Her ticket matched all five numbers in a February 26 drawing to win the jackpot. The odds of matching numbers to all five balls drawn are 1-in-962,598.
Davis collected her winnings at lottery headquarters Monday. After required taxes, Denning’s winnings total $265,448. She said she plans use the winnings to do household projects and pay bills.

Cash 5 is one of six draw games in North Carolina in which players can either buy physical tickets or play through the lottery’s official mobile app. Last year, the lottery raised more than $4 million for education in Chatham County.
