Hoda Kotb took to social media on April 8 to share an encouraging yet subtle message with fans about facing personal struggles.
The former Todayhost shared a video on Instagram by writer Josie Balka, in which she talked about challenging "storms" you face in life and how to weather them.

"In the history of storms, there has never been one that lasted forever. They've all come and found their way of passing, even though each of them shows up in a different form than the last or the next. The two things they all have in common is that they start and they end," began Balka's poignant message.
She went on, saying, "Some of them roll through without warning and end just as quickly as they began, white knuckles on the steering wheel and suddenly it's sunny again. Some of them are long expected and not as bad as they were projected to be, and some of them are catastrophic, tearing apart everything in their wake, the kind of storm that takes such a toll you have to rebuild everything from the ground up."
But Balka brought a positive spin to it, saying, "Even while you're hunched over, picking up the pieces in the aftermath, the sun finds its way to shine on your back while you do it...Sooner than you know it, the sun will come out, because it has to, and you will be okay, because you have to."
"This storm is worth waiting out," the message concluded, with Kotb adding in the caption, "Happy tuesday xo."

Fans were grateful for the encouraging message from Kotb, with comments like, "True words indeed….❤️," "Wisdom ❤️❤️❤️," and "Needed this Thank you ?."
Kotb didn't share how she personally connected with the video, instead letting fans interpret the message however they wanted. The mother of two recently made a huge life change when she left her longtime position on the Today show to focus on her kids and other things.
