THE Los Angeles Dodgers made their official visit to the White House on Monday and Donald Trump was left in awe of Shohei Ohtani.
The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series last season and were given the honor of visiting the White House in celebration.
The Dodgers are set to face off against the Washington Nationals on Monday night, making it a convenient day to visit the White House.
As a part of their celebration, the team stood behind Donald Trump while he made a speech about the team.
Much of that speech ended up focusing on the 2024 National League MVP Ohtani.
Trump also used it as a moment to take a jab at some senators in attendance.
“He looks like a movie star,” Trump said of Ohtani.
“He’s got a good future, I’m telling you.”
California senators Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff, both Democrats, were watching the speech and got their own kind of shoutout from Trump.
“We have a couple senators here,” he said.
“I just don’t particularly like them, so I won’t introduce them.”
After the special ceremony, Ohtani was given a special invitation to visit the Oval Office.
He got a one-on-one meeting with the president and posed for photos with him.
“It’s a great honor,” Trump said.
“You’re an amazing athlete and person.”
MLB fans loved the crossover between Ohtani and Trump and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Shohei Ohtani is the best thing to ever happen to Major League Baseball. What a winner,” one fan said.
“Never noticed how tall he is,” another fan said.
“Such an honor,” a third fan said.
“This is amazing, hope visiting the White House becomes the norm again,” a fourth fan said.
“Probably the greatest baseball player of all time,” a fifth fan said.
