The Masters 2025 prize money: Scottie Scheffler eyeing back-to-back payouts with huge winnings on offer at iconic major

Winning the Masters is a dream for every golfer, as being able to put on that iconic green jacket is an honour only few achieve.

But it’s not just the jacket and trophy that the winners get, it’s also a whopping amount of money.

Scottie Scheffler was the victor last year and he’s now aiming to win back-to-back Masters and join an exclusive club to do so alongside legends Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Nick Faldo.

The World No.1 will lead the field at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club along with Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele and Jon Rahm.

They will all be competing for the biggest cut of what is a huge prize pot…

    The Masters 2025: Prize money

Although there hasn’t been a confirmed prize pot for the 2025 Masters, a prediction can be made using last year’s tournament.

Official prize details for this week are likely to be announced soon.

In 2024, the Masters and Augusta National broke records for putting up the largest ever amount of money seen at this event.

A total prize purse of $20milllion (£15.6million) was made available.

Scheffler received $3.6m (£2.8m) for winning the tournament last year and a similar payout is expected for whoever comes out on top this week.

Second place is expected to get just over $2m and third place will claim $1.3m.

Fourth will likely pick up $960,000, while fifth collects a prize of $800,000.

Masters top 10 prize money breakdown

    1st: $3.6million (£2.8million) 2nd: $2.1million (£1.5million) 3rd: $1.3million (£1million) 4th: $960,000 (£751,000) 5th: $800,000 (£626,000) 6th: $720,000 (£563,000) 7th: $670,000 (£524,000) 8th: £620,000 (£485,000) 9th: $580,000 (£454,000) 10th: $540,000 (£422,000)

These figures could still potentially change when the 2025 details are officially released.

The caddies don’t leave empty-handed either, picking up 10 percent of the winnings if their man claims the green jacket, seven percent for a top 10 and five percent otherwise.

Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, took home $360,000 for their success last year.

In 2023, Jon Rahm’s caddie Adam Hayes claimed around $320,000 (£249,000) for their win.
