(KRON) – A Santa Rosa man was arrested for having an excessive amount of child pornography, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigations Unit (CSI) received a tip regarding online sexual exploitation of children that led to an investigation in June of 2024.
CSI detectives identified the West Sonoma County residence where the online activity occurred and the suspect, 26-year-old Jeremiah Ortega.
Unregistered, loaded gun found during Santa Rosa traffic stopOn Thursday, the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault and CSI detectives executed a search warrant on Boyd Street in Santa Rosa. Ortega was arrested during the search warrant.
Ortega was later booked into the Main Adult Detention Facility for felony possession of child pornographic material. The sheriff's office said an enhancement charge was filed due to the excessive amount of child pornography material on several electronic devices, which increased his bail by $250,000. His bail totals to $271,000.
