Over a dozen flights canceled, over 600 delayed at Denver airport amid fog, snow

DENVER (KDVR) -- With snow flurries and fog in Denver weather to wrap up the week, the Denver International Airport is warning travelers to check their flights as hundreds have been delayed and more than a dozen are canceled Thursday.

Denver weather: Rain, snow showers and cooler temperatures move in Thursday

DIA shared a look at conditions in a post on X. Planes were still moving, but snow was starting to come down and fog made for low visibility.

    Flights that are both arriving at or departing from the Denver airport have been impacted, including 629 delays and 13 cancelations as of 3 p.m., according to online flight tracking tool FlightAware.

    Of the cancelations, 10 are for Southwest flights, two for Air Canada and one for Frontier. Most of the delays are on Southwest, United and SkyWest.

    Flight delays have been on the rise Thursday afternoon. The Pinpoint Weather team said rain showers are possible for the Denver metro area Thursday evening. Then, Friday and Saturday are Pinpoint Weather Alert Days with snow in the forecast for the metro area.
