The Diamondbacks and second baseman Ketel Marte have agreed to a contract extension which runs through 2031. According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, it’s worth $116.5MM but $64MM in new money. Marte’s previous extension already had him locked up through 2027 with a club option for 2028. Mike Rodriguez reported last night that the two sides were discussing a new contract. Piecoro adds that there is also a player option and $46MM in deferred money.
