— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanHoops) April 2, 2025Beard just wrapped up his 2nd season at Ole Miss. He brought the Rebels to the Sweet 16 this year — their first trip to that stage since 2001.
Beard is a Texas alum and was the Longhorns’ head coach from 2021-23. Beard was fired by Texas midway through the 2022-23 season after he was arrested on assault charges. Those charges were later dropped.
Prior to taking the Texas job, Beard had a very successful stint at Texas Tech where he led the Red Raiders all the way to the National Championship game back 2021.
