SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) have reportedly settled their dispute over ticket distribution and other operational concerns during the IPL 2025 season. The conflict had arisen over ticket distribution and complimentary passes for SRH home matches during the season.
SRH had threatened to relocate their home matches from the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium due to tensions with the Hyderabad Cricket Association. The franchise raised concerns over alleged pressure tactics, including demands for tickets, particularly from HCA president A Jagan Mohan Rao.
This dispute over ticket allocation even led to the closure of an entire box during SunRisers Hyderabad's home match against Lucknow Super Giants on March 27. However, SRH and the Hyderabad Cricket Association have now resolved their differences, as per Cricbuzz.
In a joint statement, both parties confirmed their agreement. SRH insisted on following the tri-party agreement with HCA and BCCI. Meanwhile, HCA proposed maintaining the existing allocation of passes as per past practices.
"SRH proposed strictly adhering to the existing tri-party agreement between SRH, HCA, and BCCI, ensuring that 10% of the available stadium capacity across all sections is allocated accordingly. The HCA, in turn, proposed maintaining the existing allocation of passes in each category, in line with the long-standing practice followed over the years," a joint statement said.
HCA secretary R Devraj called for a meeting after the dispute escalated to the Chief Minister of Telangana. SunRisers Hyderabad had accused the HCA president of using pressure tactics to secure additional tickets and passes. SRH representatives Kiran, Saravanan, and Rohit Suresh were present at the discussion.
We Have Resolved All Our Outstanding Issues - SRH and HCA Issue Joint Statement
After discussions and phone conversations with SRH CEO Shanmugam, both parties agreed to maintain the existing allocation of 3,900 complimentary passes for HCA, as per previous arrangements.
"With this meeting, we have resolved all our outstanding issues. HCA and SRH remain committed to working together amicably to enhance the spectator experience at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium," the joint statement said.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association allegedly locked the F3 box. It was claimed that the box remained closed until the demand for 20 additional complimentary tickets was met.
SRH Aim to Bounce Back in Next Home Game Against Gujarat Titans
SunRisers Hyderabad, the 2016 IPL champions, have experienced contrasting results in their home games this season. They got off to a massive victory against the Rajasthan Royals. The Orange army set a massive total of 286/6—the second-highest in IPL history—and secured a commanding 44-run victory.
However, their momentum was halted in the next fixture against Lucknow Super Giants, where they managed 190/9 and lost the match by five wickets.
SunRisers Hyderabad, led by Pat Cummins, are set to face Gujarat Titans at home on Sunday, April 6. Their previous encounter with GT at this venue in 2024 was abandoned due to rain.
