The diner explained in a post on Reddit that he had paid a $1 tip when he ordered his meal through the restaurant’s website.

But when he went in to pick up his meal, he was handed a receipt with a line on it for an additional, second, tip.

He fumed: “If I choose to go back, it’ll be zero tip.”

One user commented: “That’s beyond ridiculous. I am glad I am not the only person annoyed by the tip entitlement.”

Another wrote: “Corporate greed is always looking for new ways to screw the customer.”

While another joked: “Tip for the tip with an additional tipping fee.”

One person even said that they have been put off dining out because of the price.

The angry diner also complained about another restaurant nearby in the Reddit post.

He explained that if customer’s don’t tip in the app, they are asked to sign a receipt when they turn up to pick it up.

He added: “I’ve been tipping zero there in pick ups for some time.”

Almost three out of four say tipping has gotten out of control, according to a WalletHub survey last year.

Half of Americans say they often leave a tip due to social pressure, rather than as a reward for good customer service.
