Virginia Giuffre previously claimed she was paid a five-figure sum by Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with Prince Andrew.
According to court documents obtained by People in 2024, Giuffre, 41, alleged that she received $15,000 from Epstein around 2001 for her alleged sexual encounters with Andrew, 65.

“Yes, I did receive $15,000. I don't know what equivalent that is to pounds. I received it in American dollars," she said in 2016 as a part of a filmed deposition for a lawsuit against former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz, who served on the legal team for Epstein's first criminal case in 2008.
Epstein later pleaded guilty on one charge of soliciting a minor and was sentenced to 18 months in prison, but only served 13 months. He later died by suicide in August 2019 while in prison for sex trafficking charges.
Giuffre previously alleged that she was trafficked by Epstein and that she had her first encounter with Andrew when she was 17 years old in 1999, claiming she had sex with him in London at Ghislaine Maxwell's home. She also claimed they had sex in New York City and Epstein's private Caribbean island.
Andrew has repeatedly denied the claims, including ever meeting Giuffre. However, Giuffre, Andrew and Maxwell were pictured in an undated photograph released by the United States District County for the Southern District of New York in August 2021.
A civil case filed by Giuffre against Andrew, in which she accused the former royal of sexual assault, was settled out of court in 2022, per BBC. As a result of the suit, Andrew was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages by Queen Elizabeth II.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, March 30, Giuffre shared a photo of herself in the hospital and claimed she has just days to live after going into renal failure following a car crash.
Giuffre said that she’s “ready to go” and that she hopes to see her children “one last time.”
