Last Thursday, Heder pulled up to Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, to watch his alma mater in action.

In Napoleon Dynamite, the actor played a bullied teen obsessed with tater tots.

Last year he reprised the role to mark 20 years since the film’s release, teaming up with potato company Ore-Ida in the process.

In a further callback, Heder arrived courtside last night with a plate full of tater tots.

As he made his way to his seat, the actor fist bumped fans.

In Napoleon Dynamite, Heder wore his hair in messy curls.

Twenty-one years on, the actor has short, dark hair and a beard.

Fans loved Heder’s courtside appearance, which swiftly went viral online.

“Unbelievable crossover event,” one called it.

“Gosh. That’s pretty awesome,” a second gushed.

“Never been a bigger supporter of NIL than I am right now,” a third wrote.

“The Tot energy is off the charts tonight,” Ore-Ida’s official X account added.

Current BYU star Richie Saunders has an NIL deal with Ore-Ida.

The forward’s great-grandfather founded the potato company.

Unfortunately for Heder, Saunders and Co, BYU were well beaten by Alabama on the night.

Kevin Young’s squad fell 113-88 to the Crimson Tide.

Mark Sears scored 34 points while laying on eight dimes in 30 minutes of action.

While his Alabama teammate Aden Holloway also chipped in with 23 points.

Saunders, meanwhile, did manage a productive night even in defeat.

The 23-year-old scored 25 points while grabbing six rebounds in 33 minutes.
