COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Strong thunderstorms knocked out power to more than 21,000 AEP customers in three central Ohio counties Sunday night.
As of 11:15 p.m., a total of 14,392 Franklin County customers, 4,402 Licking County, and 2,411 Delaware County customers were without power. In total, 24, 207 customers across Ohio were without power.
AEP estimates power to one of the hardest hit areas of Franklin County -- on the west/southwest side of the county -- will be restored by 2:30 a.m. Monday. The other part of the county with the most outages -- in the New Albany area -- is still waiting for the cause of the outages to be assessed before power can be restored.
