ISCA International Senior Cup
March 25-30, 2025 North Shore Aquatic Center, St. Petersburg, FL Meet Central Meet Results: “ISCA INTERNATIONAL SENIOR CUP” on Meet MobileQuinn Schurek downed an ISCA meet record on night four of the 2025 ISCA Spring International Cup.
Schurek, who competes for the Cincinnati Marlins, claimed victory in the 16-and-under 100 breaststroke, touching in 1:01.28. This marks not only a personal best, which formerly stood at 1:01.34, it also down’s Sophia Zhang’s 1:01.88 meet record from 2018. Ava Jochims of Racer X, at 15 years of age, was the next fastest swimmer at 1:03.00. Tide’s Caprei Moreno won the open event in 1:04.39.
A relay meet record also fell at the end of the session. All Star Aquatics downed the mixed 400 free relay record, going 3:11.00 to erase NBAC’s 3:11.04 mark from 2022. The team was led of by Andre Brooks in a blistering 45.16 personal best. Brooks handed it off to Virginia Hinds (48.98), Hannah Clattenburg (51.06), and finally Noah Potter (45.80).
In addition to the relay record, Brooks and Hinds also picked up individual wins. Brooks, who will begin competing at the Naval Academy in fall, came within .02 of his 100 fly lifetime best to take the event (48.46). Hinds, meanwhile, completed a successful backstroke sweep at this meet with a 25.19 in the 50. She won in the 16-and-under event, while Delaney Schwab posted a 26.16 to win the open event.
In the men’s breaststroke, Noah Cakir continued his domination of the stroke at this meet, logging a new personal best of 53.07. The Indiana commit’s previous best stood at 53.28 from 2023 Winter Juniors. Cakir also took the 400 IM in 3:48.60.
While Cakir made waves in the open category, Kolby Martin (Aggie Swim Club) and Jackson Edwards (PEAQ) did the same in the 16-and-under category. The pair went 1-2 respectively in a tightly contested 100 fly, going 49.53 and 49.58. It marked a new best time for both, and Edwards’ first time under 50. Edwards then won the 50 back in 23.12, and Martin capped off the session with a 56.04 100 breast win, a best time by almost two seconds.
Quest’s Emerson Callis, who now has a string of wins, added two more in the 400 IM (4:13.34) and the 100 fly (53.46) back-to-back. Callis’ teammate, Ally Vernon, won the open 100 fly in 55.01.
Andy Roose rounds out last night’s winners, posting a quick 22.80 50 back to take the open final.
