NFL fans believe that Aaron Rodgers will reveal his career decision on a certain date.
There has been a rumor that the 41-year-old NFL star will make a public appearance and hint at his next move on a hit sports show.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have continued to be linked with Rodgers after the two reportedly met for six hours last week.
As the world waits to see if Rodgers signs with the Steelers or even retires from the sport, there have been rumors that the four-time NFL MVP will announce his decision on The Pat McAfee Show.
Rodgers is friends with the former punter-turned-star personality Pat McAfee and has appeared as a recurring guest on his show in the past – both during the season and off-season.
NFL fans think that Rodgers will appear at McAfee’s special event Big Night Aht, which will be a live show, of course, in Pittsburgh, at PPG Paints Arena on April 9.
“My conspiracy theory is Rodgers signing with the Steelers will be announced at McAfee’s Big Night Aht event… which is in Pittsburgh,” one commented.
“Aaron Rodgers is announcing that he’s a steeler at the Big Night Aht huh?” another asked.
“Aaron Rodgers announces he’s playing for the Steelers next Wednesday during Pat McAfee’s ‘Big Night Aht” event. Calling it now…” a third said.
The rumors even reached McAfee himself.
“That’s crazy. It’s hilarious to think about,” McAfee said on his show on Friday. “I do appreciate that people think that is possible.”
The Minnesota Vikings has been a coveted destination for Rodgers, but the feeling hasn’t been mutual.
It was reported last week that the Vikings are happy to give the starting quarterback job to 2024 first-round pick JJ McCarthy and haven’t pursued Rodgers.
But McAfee said on his self-titled program that Rodgers isn’t completely shut out from the Vikings.
“The Vikings had the opportunity to completely close the door on Aaron Rodgers and they didn’t..I know that Aaron Rodgers loves everybody in that Pittsburgh Steelers building,” he said.
McAfee’s host, AJ Hawk, who was a longtime teammate of Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers, believes that the 20-year NFL veteran likes Pittsburgh.
“I do know that he actually really likes all the Pittsburgh staff,” Hawk said.
“He loves the staff, front office, everything about Pittsburgh.
That’s what makes the Steelers the Steelers from the top down.
“I think he definitely loves all them.”
The Steelers did not retain their 2024 quarterbacks in Justin Fields, who signed with the New York Jets earlier this month, and Russell Wilson, who penned a one-year deal with the New York Giants this week.
Pittsburgh is coming off a season in which they went 10-7 and made the playoffs but lost their last five games ,including a Wild Card loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
