He was fired from the network on August 15, 2024.
As a player, Griffin III played between 2012-2020, making appearances for the Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
He played as a quarterback during his stint in the NFL.
Robert Griffin III joined ESPN in 2021, singing a multi-year contract as an analyst for their college football coverage and NFL Live.
His contract with ESPN allowed him to work in the NFL whilst also looking for a contract, previously expressing his desire to continue playing.
In 2022, Griffin joined Monday Night Countdown, replacing Randy Moss, and in 2024 was replaced by Jason Kelce.

“But just because we were so close, and we were kind of getting the chance to rekindle that fire.
“That had already been assigned.”
