Al Roker has a brazen warning for fans after taking note of a series of "crazy" videos circulating online using his likeness.
The Today personality sat down with his colleagues on their morning broadcast this week to discuss the concerning trend of "what appears to be celebrity endorsements online."
Roker himself has been a victim of impressively convincing "deepfakes" as of late, with new online advertisement depicting the meteorologist hyping up a supplement that got his hypertension under control after a series of heart attacks. There's just one problem, though—he's never had hypertension, nor a heart attack.

"It's kind of crazy," Roker said of the clips, which appeared to show him dressed in a dark purple shirt with bright purple glasses while discussing his supposed health woes.

With decades of trust built between Roker and viewers, it's a scary scam that could have countless "unassuming" fans falling for it. Even one of Roker's friends nearly did, sending the video to the weatherman and asking him to confirm it.
"Al, this sounds like you, it looks like you," his colleague Vicky Nguyen said seriously.
Roker also noted that he's heard from other celebrities who have had relatives fall for similar clips, and many celebs have spoken out in similar manners.
Tom Hanks previously issued warnings about fake content, as did Scarlett Johansson after her likeness was used in an anti-Kanye West video.
