LeBron James has fired back.
James went on The Pat McAfee Show to set the record straight.
Ever since his courtside interaction with Stephen A. Smith went viral a couple of weeks ago, Smith has gone on a media tour addressing the situation and reveling in the spotlight.
James has seen that and had a few thoughts on how Smith has conducted himself and the whole situation.
“He’s like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now,” James told McAfee.
“It started off with, ‘I didn’t wanna address it, but since the video came out I feel the need to address it.’
“He couldn’t wait for the video to come out so he could address it.
“He completely missed the whole point. The whole point.
“Never would I not allow people to criticize what they do on the court, that is your job…
“When you take it and get personal with it, it’s my job to not only protect my household, but protect the players.
“The media, including him, he’s gonna be happy as hell, smiling from ear-to-ear when he hears me talking about him.
“He’s gonna get home, grab some ice cream out of the f**** freezer and sit in his chair, in his tidy-whities.

Smith and James have butt heads recently and the First Take host once again called James out for what he had said on McAfee’s show regarding Giannis being able to score ‘250’ points in the 70s.
“Here’s the problem with what LeBron James did,” Smith said.
“It’s still disrespectful to the previous eras. And there’s no call for it.
“So when he does what he does on that level, that’s him, you know, passive-aggressively—yet again—finding a way to take shots because inherently he has a problem with himself being compared to dudes from previous eras.
“When you allude to the previous eras,” he continued.
“And you do so in that kind of way, what you’re doing is showing the disrespect—sprinkled with resentment—because you hate the fact that people are able to point to a previous era and talk about what you’re not.”
