THE Minnesota Vikings have yet to make a decision regarding their starting quarterback.
As the offseason rolls on, the Vikings have yet to sign Aaron Rodgers or cement JJ McCarthy as their starter.
McCarthy was drafted by the Vikings with the No. 10 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
However, he tore his meniscus in the preseason and was forced to miss the entire season.
Sam Darnold took over for him and had a spectacular year, leading the Vikings to the playoffs.
However, Darnold decided to sign with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent.
That left the Vikings with two options: sign Rodgers or roll with McCarthy.
It seems like that is a difficult decision, as McCarthy himself has revealed that the team hasn’t informed him of their plan yet.
During an appearance on Up and Adams, McCarthy revealed that he hasn’t been told he is the starter yet.
“They haven’t told me,” McCarthy said.
“I’m happy they didn’t because I try to earn it every single day. I never want that to be given to me.
:It’s such a privilege and opportunity to give me that chance and I’m just gonna make the most of it every single day.”
While McCarthy hasn’t been told he is the starter yet, signs are pointing towards him getting the nod.
Rodgers is being heavily linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Vikings invested a high pick in McCarthy.
He showed promise before getting hurt, and he has a strong cast around him to develop into a franchise quarterback.
Vikings fans seem to be in support of McCarthy becoming the starter, and shared their thoughts on social media.
