KAREEM HUNT has issued a rallying call after heartbreak at Super Bowl LIX.
The Kansas City Chiefs running back was powerless to stop his team going down 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles last month.
Hunt could only muster 9 yards on three carries in the blowout loss.
The 29-year-old has now penned a new one-year deal at Arrowhead Stadium to remain with the Chiefs.
And he is targeting a first career ring ahead of the upcoming 2025 season.
“I just wanna focus on finishing the job,” Hunt told Arrowhead Pride.
“It’s about finding a way to win that last game.
“The culture is just great. It didn’t end the way we wanted it to.
“But we’ve got a lot of work to do — and I feel like we’ve got another good shot at it.”
The Chiefs were going for a historic threepeat, with no team in the modern NFL era able to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Hunt was selected by Kansas City in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
He has spent the majority of his career with the Cleveland Browns, but returned to the Chiefs last season.
Hunt is one of the few players on the current roster not to have won a Lombardi.
But he insists the team will be back next year and targeting revenge.
“You never want to go to the Super Bowl and lose,” Hunt added.
“But I’m just grateful I got to experience that.
“I definitely want to get back there and see how it is on the other side.
“I’m just doing whatever Coach [Andy] Reid and those guys ask me to do, man.”
Hunt provided a change of pace to the offense as he filled in for an injured Isiah Pacheco last year.
He earned seven touchdowns in 13 games last season, proving a vital passing option for quarterback Patrick Mahomes on important downs.
Hunt will be competing for snaps next season with new arrival Elijah Mitchell.
Pacheco and 2024 undrafted free agent Carson Steele will also be looking for reps in a busy running back committee.
