A popular laundry detergent has been recalled over a bacteria risk.
Over 16,000 bottles of Woolite Delicates detergent, sold exclusively on Amazon, have been recalled due to the potential presence of bacteria.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the detergent was sold in 50-fluid-ounce bottles that can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovorans.
The federal agency explained that “people with weakened immune systems or external medical devices who are exposed to the bacteria face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment.” It also noted that individuals with healthy immune systems usually aren’t affected.

The bacteria, which is an environmental organism that can be found widely in both water and soil, can enter the body through a break in the skin or through the eyes.
The affected bottles have SKU 62338-72724 and the lot numbers on the potentially contaminated bottles are S24364, S24365 and S24366. The lot numbers are printed at the top of the back of the bottle.
Consumers who purchased the affected detergent can reach out to Reckitt, Woolite’s parent company, to receive a refund. To do so, consumers should write their name and “Recalled” in permanent marker on the back of the bottle. They should then take a photo with the UPC and lot code visible, and email the picture to [email protected].
The affected product should be disposed of by tightly sealing the bottle and placing it in household trash. Consumers should not empty the product from the bottle nor recycle the bottle.
