Homeowners held during Woodland Hills home invasion, one zip tied in bed

Two homeowners were held in their Woodland Hills home — one awoken and then zip tied in his bed — during a home invasion just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, police said.

Police responded to a burglary call in the 23300 block of Erwin Street.

The homeowners, senior citizens, reported that two men entered the home and kept the woman at bay, said Officer David Cuellar, a spokesperson for Los Angeles police.

A safe, with unknown contents, was stolen.

Two suspects were dressed in all black, with a third — the sex was unclear — involved at some point and in a silver tracksuit, police said.

It was unclear if the suspects had weapons or if they fled on foot or in a vehicle.
