A SHOPPER has slammed the employees at BJ’s Wholesale after they failed to help them despite a 45 minute phone call.
Taking to social media, the furious customer slammed the workers as “incompetent”.
They said: “@BJsWholesale just sent over 45 minutes with 3 different chat reps trying to RENEW my subscription so I could purchase products from you.
“Completely incompetent employees and never got renewed – my CC was charged though….terrible.”
The retailer quickly issued an apology, asking the customer to privately message them but that was not the end of the issue.
“We apologize for any inconvenience,” they said.
“Please send us a DM or email us at [email protected], and we will further assist you.”
The shopper replied confirming that they had reached out and the retailer said they were helping them out.
But hours later, the shopper was forced to return to X saying: “Still waiting” and no further public response was made by the company.
It is not clear if the customer went ahead with renewing their membership with the company.
A standard membership costs $60 per year while a Club+ card is $120 with additional perks like money off gas, two free same-day deliveries, and free curbside pick up on any order.
But this complaint online is one of a number received by the company with another shopper threatening to axe their membership.
It came after they slammed the retailer’s “disappointing” discount policy after learning that BJ’s no longer do teacher discounts.
“Some of us depend on that discount,” they said.
“I may think twice about keeping my membership next time it’s time to renew.”
However, the company later clarified that “the special promotional offer for our teachers is only for membership sign-up, it is not for renewal.”

Another customer complained about a “cart issue” that forced them to wander the parking lots in “freezing temperatures”.
But, it’s not all doom and gloom for BJ’s.
As the wholesale club plans and expansion, some shoppers have wildly praised the retailer.
One even said it’s “10/10 better than Sam’s Club” as it hopes to add up to 30 new stores to its footprint by 2027.
Several locations are set to open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas.
One customer commended BJ’s for its efficiency after experiencing the store chain for the first time.
The member shared their experience in the store on Facebook, comparing it to other competing chains.
“Okay, here is my review of BJ’s in Maryville for anyone wondering how it compares to Sam’s Club,” the user wrote in the post.
“I AM a Sam’s Club girl through and through, Costco has never impressed me, and I was very skeptical about BJ’s but was VERY impressed.”
The shopper stated that the experience was an improvement over Sam’s Club right from outset.
“Straight from the parking lot BJ’s 10/10 better than Sam’s Club, the parking at the Sam’s Club in Knoxville is a NIGHTMARE,” said the shopper.
“Parking at Sam’s is ALWAYS pure chaos, but at BJ’s there was plenty of room.”
