High school sports results (Thursday): Windsor bounces back from previous loss with dominant baseball win

Highland 13, Platte Valley 10, in Kersey: Highland prevailed in this high-scoring nonleague affair, out-hitting Platte Valley 8-5. The Broncos had six errors, compared to one for the Huskies. Junior Stetson Hendren hit 3 for 5 with thee RBI, two runs and a home run. He was one of four Platte Valley batters with multiple RBI. Senior Jeremiah Molinar led Highland, hitting 1 for 3 with two RBI and a run. The Huskies improved to 2-0. The Broncos improved to 1-1.

Greeley West 10, Mountain Range 9, in Greeley: Greeley West secured this tightly contested nonconference nail-biter to improve to 4-3 on the season. After the Spartans led 6-2 through three innings, Mountain Range rallied, tying the game at 9 with two runs in the top of the seventh. West delivered the walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore Isaiah Preciado led the way, hitting 2 for 5 with three RBI and a run.Sophomore Elliott Leffler went 4 for 4 with two RBI.

    Windsor 12, Denver East 2, 6 inn., in Denver: Windsor bounced back from a tough 11-9 loss to Liberty three days earlier. The Wizards out-hit Denver East 12-6. Junior Jeremiah Calderon and senior Izaak Haro each hit 2 for 4 with two RBI. Four Windsor players had multiple hits. Wizard senior Grant Kerber pitched all six innings, allowing one earned run on five hits, striking out seven and walking two.

    Severance hosts meet, in Eaton: Severance played host to the six-team Longs Peak League meet at the Eaton Country Club. Northridge placed first, shooting a 33-over-par 246. Severance was third (277). Senior Emmarie Miles and junior Grace Gerbers led the Grizzlies, each shooting a 9-over-par 80 to tie for second overall. They were joined on Northridge’s squad by senior Jade Hepler (5th, 86) and junior Madison Nation (10th, 92). Senior Sophie Morgan led Severance, shooting an 88 and placing seventh. She was complemented on the team by senior Katelyn Johnson (8th, 90), senior Reagan Mendoza (13th, 102) and sophomore Jaycee Runner (11th, 99).

    Girls soccer

    Windsor 1, Palmer Ridge 0, in Windsor: Windsor won this defensive-minded nonconference affair to improve to 3-2 overall. Senior goalkeeper Leah Bacon had five saves.

    Severance 3, Fort Morgan 0, in Severance: Severance was rock solid in this nonconference affair, improving to 3-1-1 overall. The Silver Knights scored all three of their goals in the second half.

    Girls tennis

    Eaton 4, Severance 3, in Eaton: Severance won all three singles matches, while Eaton claimed three of four doubles matches. Silver Knights sophomore Joanna Carter defeated fellow sophomore Chloe Crider 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Eaton juniors Madi Smith and Trinity Salberg defeated senior Lane Robinson and sophomore Brooke Zink 6-6 (5-7), 6-3, 11-9 at No. 1 doubles. Severance improved to 3-1 overall with this nonleague win. The Reds fell to 1-1.
