ACH Seeds will award $10,000 each to six organizations that serve rural communities through the 2025 Homegrown Giving program.
The Homegrown Giving program has contributed $130,000 to organizations since U.S. sugar beet seed company ACH Seeds launched the program in 2022, according to an ACH Seeds news release.
The program strengthens rural communities and empowers the organizations that serve them. Past recipients have fought rural food insecurity, expanded agricultural education through local FFA chapters and more.
“Through our Homegrown Giving program, ACH Seeds is honored to give back to the rural communities where our customers live and produce the food we all depend on,” Crystal Brand Sales Leader Andy Finkral said in the release. “Strong rural communities are an integral part of family farms, and we take great pride in supporting the organizations that make a real difference.”
Rural communities can nominate “outstanding local organizations” that make a difference until May 31, the release said. ACH Seeds encourages “sugarbeet growers, industry professionals and community members” to apply.
Those interested can complete the application at achseeds.com/homegrown-giving.
A panel will evaluate nominated organizations based on “alignment with ACH Seeds’ values, the organization’s contributions to the local community and the award’s impact on the organization,” according to the release.
The panel of local growers, industry representatives and ACH Seeds sales team members will select the six recipients who must operate within one of ACH Seeds’ six regions. The region includes the Western Sugar South, which includes northeastern counties in Colorado, as well as select counties in Wyoming and Nebraska.
ACH Seeds will announce and recognize the award winners in the fall.
