FC Bayern Munich is in deep mourning following the tragic loss of Guo Jiaxuan, a former player of the World Squad, who passed away at the tender age of 18 in his home country of China. Guo suffered from a severe head injury after a devastating accident that occurred during a training match in Spain on February 6. The club extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Guo was a promising center-back who had the privilege of being part of the FC Bayern World Squad in 2023, an initiative designed to provide talented young players from around the globe with the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially pursue a career in professional football. Additionally, he represented China at various youth levels, highlighting his status as a rising star in the sport.

After the injury, he was swiftly transported to a hospital in Madrid, where his family received the devastating news that he had lost all brain function. Tragically, nearly six weeks later, Guo’s family announced his passing on March 19, just one day before his 19th birthday.

May Guo Jiaxuan rest in peace!” They further committed to supporting his family during this challenging period, promising to do everything possible to manage the aftermath of this heartbreaking situation.

Bayern Munich’s tribute underscored the impact Guo had during his time with the World Squad and his participation in China’s youth national teams, marking him as a player with immense potential and a bright future ahead. The football community is united in grief over the loss of such a young talent, and his memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him and appreciated his love for the game.
