SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) -- Fire crews in San Jose responded early Thursday to a large warehouse fire next to the SAP Center.
When San Jose Fire Department firefighters arrived before 4 a.m., they found the structure, located on the corner of North Autumn and West St John streets, fully engulfed in flames, officials said. The structure is said to be an abandoned warehouse that was set to be demolished.
Due to the instability and danger, crews took a defensive position and raised truck ladders to attack the fire from above. By 5:30 a.m., visible flames at the scene were extinguished. Water continued to be poured down from above to combat possible flare-ups.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
