Mariah Carey Becomes an Instant Meme After Strong Reaction to Cover of Her Song ...Saudi Arabia

Mariah Carey may not be the best at hiding her "Emotions," according to the internet. 

The legendary singer is going viral for the face she made during a cover performance of one of her songs at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, March 17.

Carey, 55, received the Icon Award at this year's presentation, where she was honored with performances by Tori Kelly and Muni Long, who covered her hit songs "Always Be My Baby" and "We Belong Together," respectively. 

But it was during Long's performance when fans noticed Carey appeared to make a disapproving look—and her reaction is already becoming an internet meme.

As seen in the now-viral video on X (formerly Twitter), Carey appeared to give a little side-eye while slowly turning her head away from the stage in the middle of Long's performance. Fans online instantly perceived her facial expression to be a sign of disapproval.

"Mariah wasn't feeling it," another user on X wrote in response to Carey's reaction, while someone else said the "Touch My Body" songstress was clearly "shading" Long with her seemingly unimpressed facial expression. 

"Mariah didn't like it," someone else argued. 

Another person on X added, "this gif of Mariah Carey will go down in history."

As for Kelly's performance of "Always Be My Baby," Carey seemed to be much more into it, and she even appeared to be blowing kisses to her at the end of the song. 

Carey was also seen posing for a photo with both Kelly and Long, seemingly signaling that there was no bad blood between any of the artists.

"Mariah's songs are hard to cover," one user on X wrote while giving Long the benefit of the doubt. 

"Props to her. A very difficult song to sing," another user added.
