FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Storm Team 4 continues to monitor the threat for severe weather going into Sunday afternoon. A tornado watch is in effect for portions of central Ohio until 4 pm. Stay weather aware as a line of showers and thunderstorms continue to strengthen.

The strongest storms are most likely to occur between 1pm-6pm. Areas of central Ohio will be under either a marginal or slight risk for severe weather. Places shaded in yellow have the best chance to see an isolated weak tornado or two. Other severe threats include strong winds and some minor flooding.

Daytime high temperatures will stay in the low 60s, then a frontal boundary is going to move in. Cooler air arrives and temps will fall fast during the evening. Mostly cloudy skies and calmer conditions are expected to night with lows near the freezing point.

Monday kicks off the new work week on a much different not. Plenty of sunshine is expected on St. Patrick’s day, but air temperatures will be much cooler only reaching the mid 50s. The clear skies continue into Tuesday, but central Ohio will be back into its above average temperature trend by then.

Warmer air will eventually make its return by the middle of the new week. By Wednesday night another cold front arrives bringing rain showers, but at this time no severe weather is expected. On the back side of that system will be a rush of colder air. High temperatures to finish the work week will not make it past the upper 40s.
