(PINPOINT WEATHER) -- Good evening and happy Saturday!
We continue to track possible severe weather on the way, with Sunday being a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day. Storms are expected throughout the morning hours before clearing out in the afternoon. Cooler weather is expected Monday before another warmup for the middle of the week.
As for tonight and Sunday, in addition to the severe weather, we are tracking strong winds as well with Wind Advisories in effect for all of the Central Carolinas until 2 PM in the afternoon for wind gusts up to 50 MPH.
Storms are expected to move in during the late overnight and early morning hours in the form of a line of storms. Within this line of storms, we are expecting severe weather with strong winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes possible.
The main timeframe of the storms will be from roughly 4 AM Sunday until 2 PM. Damaging winds are the primary threat, but isolated tornadoes should be expected. Strong winds outside of the storms should be expected as well until the main line passes with gusts up to 50 MPH before our winds die down after that.
Behind the cold front, we should see some cooler temperatures. Monday highs will go from the mid-70s Sunday afternoon to the mid-60s. Quickly though temperatures will rebound back into the mid 70s for the middle of the week before our next cold front arrives Thursday with a possible shower.
In the meantime, please make sure you have a way to get alerts tonight and Sunday!
Have a great night and be safe!
