(KRON) – One person is dead after their stalled car was crashed into by a driver who was on their phone in Redwood City, according to California Highway Patrol.
At around 11:23 p.m. on Friday, a red sedan was halted in the third lane on Highway 92 due to the car being out of gas. A white sedan crashed into the rear of the red sedan due to the driver being on their phone, according to CHP.
Responding officials said the driver of the red sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the white sedan was taken to the hospital with hand injuries.
All roads were closed until 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.
