Jay & Pamela premiered on TLC in March 2025—and its stars, Jay Manuel and Pamela Chavez, quickly won over viewers as they prepared for their wedding. But are they ready to have kids after saying "I do?"
Manuel, 28, and Chavez, 30 were both born with a super-rare genetic disorder called osteogenesis imperfecta type 3, which causes brittle bones, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Both use motorized wheelchairs because of their condition.

Recently, the TLC stars spoke with Parade about their new reality series and future plans, including whether they hope to have children one day.
"I mean, it's conversations that we've had about it," Manuel tells us. "And I think, again, it's taking it one day at a time."
The couple only recently adopted a dog named Cheddar and walked down the aisle, after all.
"Even though we don't take any steps, we're taking it step by step with everything and just seeing and defining that family unit for us," he adds. "But, you know, it's definitely something we've talked about and discussed. So, you know, we'll see."

"It's always an ongoing conversation," she tells Parade.
"It's already a huge responsibility in general," she explains of parenthood. "So yeah, like, I don't know. There's a lot of things that I said I would never do. And then, like, here I am."
Viewers can tune into Jay & Pamela to watch Manuel and Chavez's house hunting, wedding planning and more. New episodes air on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC and are available for streaming on Max.
