Luke Littler retains Belgian Darts Open title to deny rival history-making crown

Luke Littler has retained his Belgian Darts Open title, beating home star Mike De Decker in the final.

The 18-year-old sensation came into the tournament having won it last year and coming up against a crowd rooting for De Decker.

But Littler, as he has so many times in what’s still the infancy of his career, held his nerve to claim an 8-5 win.

Littler, who averaged over 100 in four of his five matches, had beaten James Wade, Dave Chisnall and Luke Woodhouse en route to the final.

In winning the championship, Littler banks £30,000 and also denies De Decker a history-making triumph.

If De Decker had won then he would’ve become the first Belgian player to win a European Title on home soil.

But the crown goes to Littler, who beat Rob Cross in last year’s final, with the Belgian Darts Open Littler’s third title of 2025 having won the PDC World Championship in January as well as UK Open last weekend.

The Warrington wonderkid is now looking ahead to night six of the Premier League in Nottingham on Thursday night.

He claimed victory on night five in Brighton, beating Nathan Aspinall in the final.

This is the second win of this year’s Premier League Littler has won as he looks to defend his title won on his debut last year.
